Unveiling Wisdom within Stillness: A Journey from Chaos to Clarity

In our fast-paced world, stillness can feel almost impossible. We’re constantly pushed and pulled, flooded with information, notifications, and the pressure to be “on” all the time.

Embracing stillness is not just a pause in chaos. It’s a transformative journey toward self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

My journey of embracing stillness is a personal one, where I’ve learned to create a space to hear words of wisdom from within.

“When everything is moving and shifting, the only way to counteract chaos is stillness. When things feel extraordinary, strive for the ordinary. When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.” ~ Kristin Armstrong

However, it wasn’t always like this.

Listen. Listen. Can you hear?

I was on the move to the next thing. Running like a hamster on a wheel was totally me. I desired to see, experience, and do it all. The unlimited opportunities and outside noise consumed me, and I got swept away in the whirlwind.

I paid little attention to my internal voice until I moved from New York City to Maine in my thirties to live in the middle of nowhere. I live in Virginia now.

While in nature in Maine, away from the city’s noise and busyness and without cell phone reception, I finally heard the scream of my soul asking for attention

Nature has a way of quieting the mind and opening the heart, which makes it ideal for cultivating stillness and wisdom.

The tranquility of nature let me hear my inner voice. I remembered my childhood and awakened my desire to share my life story one day.

I am on top of a mountain in Maine

That is how my healing journey and the conception of my memoir began.

Now, more than ever, I’m bringing moments of stillness into my life. When I struggle to quiet my mind, I unload the spinning-in-circles thoughts into my journal. It’s a process, a practice, and a commitment to my well-being.

I become still by dropping into my body and listening, relaxing my muscles, focusing on breathing, and paying attention to any sensations. This sweet pause helps me get grounded and centered and hear my inner wisdom.

When we stop and listen to our inner wisdom and begin to give ourselves what we need, harmony begins to flow.

Remember, stillness isn’t about becoming a blank slate. It’s about creating an environment where your true wisdom can flourish.

So, pause, quiet the external noise, and discover the wisdom that lies within the stillness.

What do you notice when you allow stillness to heal and reveal?

Feel free to write back. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
