Ignite Your Creative Spark
“You have to find what sparks a light in you so that you in your own way can illuminate the world.”~ Oprah Winfrey
What ignites your creative spark? What action do you take to express yourself fully?
Everyone has some creativity within them. You don’t have to do “artistic” things like drawing, painting, writing, singing, playing musical instruments, or dancing to show your creative side. You can do anything that brings you joy. Even if it’s to organize your bookshelf, plant flowers, or experiment with a new recipe. It’s all about thinking outside the box.
“If you’re alive, you’re a creative person.” ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
You ARE creation itself. The significant steps you can take to (re) ignite your creative spark are softening your heart, imagining possibilities, and expressing them with courage. Courage is the key!
This year I intend to be more courageous, not hold back, and express myself through different art forms.
For me, igniting or activating a spark within means working with my womb space. The sacral chakra below the belly button handles creative self-expression.
It makes me feel alive and aligned when I express myself through creativity. I feel fulfilled. But, trust me, I have struggled to connect to my creativity. A place where there is no motivation, no desire to do anything.
How do I motivate myself?
- I walk outside to refresh my mind and enter a state of receptivity. Nature is my inspiration.
- Next, I use music and affirmations to lift my spirit.
- Then, I move my hips by dancing and awaken my creativity.
Three tips to create space for creativity:
- Dedicate time to create. I’m choosing to spend two hours on Saturdays, twice a month, plus once with others at my home. It takes courage to say “yes” to yourself.
- Show up! It takes vulnerability. Trust me. It’s not always easy to get out of your comfort zone and allow yourself to be seen and heard. Join a group by your interest. Groups can provide a supportive environment where you can share your gifts and aspirations, be inspired, and ignite your creative spark of self-expression.
- Allow yourself to be free—color outside the lines. Don’t hold back and overthink it. When we drop into our bodies, we create amazing things. Connect to your womb or your second chakra. Just listen to what wants to be born.
Boosting your inner creativity improves your life. So stay curious and continue to be inspired.

My affirmation for you:
I am courageous enough to show up for myself and my heart’s joy.
