How to Honor Your Journey: Three Reminders

Jan 24, 2022 | Mindfulness | 0 comments

“The journey is never-ending. There’s always gonna be growth, improvement, adversity; you just gotta take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.” ~ Antonio Brown

Do you honor your journey? Do you focus on what matters to you and not to others? How do you feel when you see success stories on Facebook or other social media? Do you compare yourself with others?

You are at the start of something great. Don’t let another person’s progress discourage you.

To be honest, I can get overwhelmed quickly by scrolling through social media. When I see so many exciting achievements and accomplishments of other people, I feel pulled away from myself and MY dreams. I get distracted trying to “wear” other people’s progress, like clothing. “Is it a comparison?” I ask myself. Absolutely! Trust me – I am not perfect. No one is. We, as human beings, tend to compare ourselves with others.

So here it goes, three reminders to honor your journey.

1. Don’t compare. Everyone is on their own path.

Yes, I have many dreams and goals about my business’s expansion, growth, and success. I want to create a FB group, retreats, long-term programs, freebies, e-courses, publish my book and start a new one. However, I am not there yet. I know my abilities and priorities. I learned to be realistic.

Don’t compare your step one with someone’s step 30. If someone is doing something, it doesn’t mean you have to do it too. Check with yourself if that’s something you need or want to do. Is it YOUR calling?

Learn to honor yourself where you are on your journey.

I love this quote by Daniell Koepke:

“Stop comparing where you’re at with where everyone else is. It doesn’t move you farther ahead, improve your situation, or help you find peace. It just feeds your shame, fuels your feelings of inadequacy, and ultimately, it keeps you stuck. The reality is that there is no one correct path in life. Everyone has their own unique journey. A path that’s right for someone else won’t necessarily be a path that’s right for you. And that’s okay. Your journey isn’t right or wrong, or good or bad. It’s just different.”

2. Get inspired by others, but remember what matters TO YOU.

Inspiration is great. We can be happy for others that follow their calling, step into their power, and make things happen. Use it as inspiration to activate the courage and strength within you to follow YOUR dreams and make them happen.

Remember, we all have a unique set of dreams, goals, needs, and obstacles. It’s essential to LIVE YOUR LIFE and not someone else. Trust that you are on the right path, on your own unique journey as you are.

So, when I notice a comparison, I bring my attention back to me, into my body, reminding myself of what matters to me.

At the beginning of the year, during meditation to Great Mother, I received three new seeds, intentions for this year. My seeds are presence, courage and transmutation. It would be another blog to write about them.

Nurturing, watching the seeds grow, and focusing on them with devotion challenge me to be courageous in expressing myself more freely. Be it writing or painting. Yes, I am an artist, and I am getting back to creating from within me.

Starting a Priestess school “Enter the Mystery” is intriguing and nerve-wracking. I know it won’t be a simple journey to work with my shadow, embrace it and recognize the light and teachings. But I am stepping into this passage with curiosity, bravery, and openness. That is my focus.

I am also here for you, serving you, offering Divine readings, facilitating bi-monthly Soul SiStars circles, bringing more content into my website’s blog and Tuesday Newsletter, and continuing writing my book with more depth.

3. Be open to receiving.

  • Meditate, my friend, journey to the Great Mother to receive seeds for the year. Meditate with the new or full moon to welcome guidance and set intentions each month.
  • Check with yourself, get clarity, and journal what matters to you.
  • Make a list of things you want to focus on, number it, and narrow it down.

You know what is best for you. Go within and explore.
